8 Ways to Gain Expert Recognition

No matter what business you are in it always helps to be seen as an expert. If you were calling someone to fix a drain or sell your house you would approach the person you saw as most credible and reputable in that area of expertise.

To become an expert takes hard work and experience. It can involve study or the honing of practical skills. It demands high standards of work. But after all this effort will you be perceived as an expert? If you feel you’ve earned the mantle of expert but are not recognized as one, here are eight ways to start establishing your reputation.

Publish a book or series of reports or articles
The internet has made this much easier. You can now create an ebook that can be downloaded without having to involve a publisher. There are ezine owners always looking for good quality articles and reports for their ezines. A well-written book or series of articles will establish your reputation as an expert in your field.

Publish a newsletter
Set one up on the internet and distribute it to your customers. This is an excellent way to regularly keep your name in front of your prospects as an authority on your subject.

Write press releases
Used correctly these can gain you a lot of positive publicity. Make sure the press release looks like newsworthy information and not like an advertisement.

Create a website
Set up a user-friendly website that will appeal to customers and you have expanded the reach of your reputation. Keep it timely and informative, and people will continue to return to your site. If you don’t know how to set up a website there are plenty of web designers who do. Alternatively enquire at a college teaching web design. Some students might want to build a portfolio.

Join associations
If you are a member of an association it will enhance your credibility. But, don’t just be a member. Be an active member. This will build your reputation among your peers and lead to useful introductions. Membership can have many benefits, and it will certainly keep you up to date in your field.

Networking
You can boost your reputation and influence by speaking to the right people. Keep your name in front of your prospects. Organize mutually beneficial ventures. You cannot predict what may come from a contact so make as many as you can.

Public Speaking
Even speaking to a local group of people can establish you as an expert and get you referrals that may lead to a wider audience. If you are not sure you can speak in public, preparation and rehearsal are the keys to success. Make sure your presentation is aimed at the right level, follows a sensible sequence and will not sound like a dry textbook-like monologue. Write your main points on small cards so you are not relying solely on your memory and start in front of a small audience.

Teach workshops or seminars
If you have knowledge that people would like to tap into you can pass on your expertise. If your presentation is well planned you will be seen as an authority in your subject. You will also meet people who are likely to recommend you to others. If you are teaching a hot topic you will also be gaining a useful income stream.

Any of these methods will start building your reputation as an expert.

Use them all correctly and you will gain the sort of reputation that will have potential clients approaching you without having to seek them out.

Unleash The True Power Of RSS

An 18 year old girl earned $4,000 for the month of March. This is not a joke. Do you want to know her secret?

AdSense.

Yup! She made four glorious grand by riding the coattails of a well visited site registered with AdSense.

Well, it helps of course that she was able to establish a site about a subject that many people like, namely Final Fantasy, and she was fortunate enough to be one of the few fans of the series who’s got the talent to make a beautiful online shrine for that particular passion.

But, most importantly, she’s lucky to be living in an age where online prominence is the key to untold riches.

Increasing website traffic is always a priority for internet marketers. More visitors mean more possibilities of a successful sale, after all. And with the aforementioned AdSense, more visitors would definitely mean more dollars for your account.

It goes without saying that search engine positioning plays an important role in increasing your site’s traffic volume. A large number of your would-be visitors have no idea about your online presence, and they have to resort to the hits delivered by their search engine queries. Being on the first page of the results page would mean a lot for your site’s chances of gaining unique visitors.

But how do you get to that first page? Granted that results are query-specific, choosing the right keywords to use in your site would greatly increase the possibility of a better search engine position. But keywords are not the end all and be all of this new science called search engine optimization.

Here’s a little known fact: search engine spiders – those little robotic creatures that fetch results for every query – love sites with changing content. The more you update your site, the more these spiders will fetch it for inquiring users.

But constantly updating your site could prove daunting. Even with the most user-friendly program, changing your content would still consume most of your time. And, we all know how internet marketers wish that there were more hours in a day, right?

Enter RSS. RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a standard for publishing regular updates to web-based content. With this standard, web publishers can send out news and updates, called feeds, which consumers can read through RSS reader applications.

It’s fast. It’s convenient. And, it has more uses than what it was originally made for.

First, RSS can easily facilitate the distribution of your business message to your consumers. Do you have a new promo which you want to advertise? Syndicate it! Do you have new content which you want your consumers to visit? Syndicate it!

Do you have new products that are up for sale? Syndicate it! Your consumers would immediately receive your business message as soon as they go online, because feeds are delivered instantaneously.

Second, the true power of RSS is best exploited with a blog. Blogs were originally developed as online journals, or diaries, but since their inception, clever internet marketers have found alternative uses for them. Blogs involve a feature that would make it easy for you to post updates.

Everything’s automated. Just write, publish, and immediately, you’ve got new content. But the best part about it is that your blog updates can easily be distributed as RSS feeds. This would save you so much time, and search engine spiders would grow a liking to you ever changing blog site, as well as your other sites where your RSS feeds originate.

Third, RSS is a free web promotion method, yet, it’s still considered as novel and your consumers would look up to you as an expert because of your seeming mastery over such “technology.”

Utilizing RSS would expose your site to more people, and it would also make it a favorite target of search engine spiders.

And, as we’ve said, more visitors mean more earning potential. If you think that girl with the Final Fantasy site is a child of destiny, then be prepared to be her brother. RSS is the key to online prominence.

day for all keywords on a particular subject?

I do not know exactly, but I guess easily over a million a month.

How many sites are selling iPod movies?

Not many yet.

Search on Google.com for “iPod Movies” and you will find mostly
this peer-to-peer stuff and one or two sites selling it.

P.S. - I think it is great to sell on eBay.com too. I searched eBay.com
for “ipod movies” and there are almost no movies, but instead almost
all search results returned iPod video device auctions.

What does it mean? It means that many people are buying ipod video
device but not many people are selling movies for ipod video device.

Do you think people who have iPod video devices may want to buy
movies for their favorite gadget?

Do you see the long-term market potential? The picture looks pretty
good if you are on the front end of the market curve.
